Welcome to Beginning Band's page for 5th graders!
Rehearsals are:
Brass - Mondays & Fridays ~ 8:00-8:30am
Woodwinds - Wednesdays & Fridays ~ 8:00-8:30am
(On late-start PLC days, we will practice 10:00-10:30am)

Spring Rehearsals will start on the week of January 12th.

Band students need to practice at least 5 days every week and for at least 10 minutes on each of those days. This is a total of at least 50 minutes each week.

Brass students turn in their charts each Monday.
Woodwind students turn in their charts each Wednesday.

Band Practice Chart

There will be awards given for participation in band each quarter. The students are working from a point system as follows:
5 points - for every rehearsal you attend on time.
(Students are still expected to be at rehearsal even if they forgot their instrument.)
5 points - for every rehearsal you bring your instrument.
15 points - for every weekly practice chart that is turned in.
100 points - for attending the December 17th concert with your instrument and music.

Students who earn 75% or more of their final points will receive an award.
Students who earn 90% or more of their final points will receive an award and a Franklin Elementary Music dog tag.
